Floristics is the scientific study of plant diversity across a geographic region. With a focus on plants (and a clever play on words), our name reflects that we are committed to using sound scientific principles in everything we do. It also reflects that we are committed to finding sustainable environmental solutions to fulfil the most basic principles of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107, 1998), namely: 1) that development must be socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable, and 2) that it must place people and their needs at the forefront of its concern, and serve their physical, psychological, developmental, cultural, and social interests equitably.
